Job Summary   As a Linux Engineer at Graphcore, you’ll play a key role in keeping our people and systems running smoothly. You’ll provide day-to-day support for Core IT services and various Linux environments used by other teams, helping colleagues resolve issues quickly and efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on security and best practice The Team  You’ll be joining a multidisciplinary team with strong technical skills and a very supportive culture. If you're looking to solve interesting problems and see your work deliver real-world results, this is the team for you.  Responsibilities and Duties  Logging and solving support requests face-to-face & via ticketing system.   Managing and supporting Linux-based systems, Layer 1 &2 Support  Security patching, including risk assessment for Linux environments.   Work with engineering teams to manage hybrid cloud and on-prem servers  Maintain Infrastructure-as-Code specifications to deploy and automate changes   Managing core infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, VPN, LDAP  Maintenance and support of the virtualisation platform.   Documenting solutions and maintaining a clear, up-to-date internal knowledge base.   Essential:  Excellent communication and customer service skills  Good understanding of troubleshooting principles and methodical problem-solving  5+ years in System Administration with strong focus on providing core infrastructure services and automation  Strong Linux administration skills in Debian & RedHat derivatives on bare metal and virtual machines  Good networking skills such as VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, routing, subnetting  Hands-on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)  Managing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, or similar.  Managing Virtualisation Platforms – VMware ESXi/vSphere, KVM/libvirtd   Desirable  Experience with identifying network/storage/CPU/RAM bottlenecks across complex workloads.  Experience with various monitoring solutions and stack (e.g. Zabbix/Prometheus/Grafana Mimir/Open Telemetry)  Experience in managing web servers, load-balancers, reverse-proxies(e.g.: ha-proxy, nginx)  Proficiency with containerisation frameworks and orchestration (e.g.: Docker/containerd/Kubernetes).  Python programming skills, with the ability to write code to interact with APIs, process data, and build small applications  Benefits In addition to a competitive salary, Graphcore offers flexible working, a generous annual leave policy, private medical insurance and health cash plan, a dental plan, pension (matched up to 5%), life assurance and income protection.
