Coordinates appointments, schedules surgery as ordered by the dentist and acts as a receptionist and a resource person for the clinic. Contacts insurance companies and managed care agencies to obtain necessary approvals so that services can be provided to patients. Answers and appropriately handles all incoming calls to the clinic. Enters charges, diagnoses and scheduling related data into computer system as indicated. Requirements High school education or equivalent plus secretarial or medical secretarial training or equivalent work experience. A minimum of two years of related experience. Prior experience in a dental setting is preferred. Ability to type at a minimum of 35 words per minute preferred to complete forms letters and data entry.
