Benefits Eligible Part-Time Benefit Eligible Work Shift Night - 12 Hour Shift (United States of America) Department 7400 Labor Delivery Displays understanding and function of all instrumentation used in the surgical and procedural areas. Applies the principles of asepsis knowledge and technique to provide optimum patient care 100% of the time. QUALIFICATIONS License /Certification Required: BLS Preferred: National certification as Certified Scrub Technologist Education Required: Graduate of a Surgical Technology program Preferred: High school graduate or equivalent JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Displays understanding and skill in use of all instrumentation utilized during surgical procedures 100% of the time. Applies the principles of asepsis in a knowledgeable manner to provide optimum patient care 100% of the time. Demonstrates awareness of responsibility to provide optimum patient safety during surgical intervention 100% of the time. Displays a commitment to professional growth and teamwork within the department. Addendum (essential for specific dept) LABOR & DELIVERY/OB OR: Fully understands and complies with ensuring proper security of medications and secured supplies during distribution and replenishment activities. Reports any concerns immediately to manager. May have access to the following for the purpose of replenishment, stock rotation and expiration checks: Unit specific, commercially prepared kits (medication and non-medication containing); Epidural trays; Syringes/needles; Plain IV/Irrigation Solutions. May be required to Stock Fluid Warmers in OB OR and on 2 East with IV Fluids and irrigation fluids and check temperatures according to policy. Responsible for maintaining PAR Levels and currency of dates on supplies that they stock. Additional Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area. Knowledgeable of growth and development for all patient/family cultural, linguistic, spiritual, gender, and age specific needs. Able to effectively communicate and care for patient and family as reflected in the Plan for Provision of Care. Performs other duties as assigned.
