Job Description Summary Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Support the Business Verticals in creating and reviewing (in conjunction with the leadership team) systems solutions as part of the OTR process, ensuring that solutions are technically fit for purpose and that technical risk is understood and managed with contingencies identified.  Modelling of Electrical Components example Power Electronic Drives, Transformers, Motors using MATLAB System Design using MATLAB simulation, Analysis, and Report Preparation for VFD, SFC, Harmonic Filters, HVDC projects, Power Quality Projects. Knowledge in Power Electronic Components and Drive to perform system design Knowledge in Control System to analyze closed loop systems Protection Relay Co-ordination and setting parameters using Electrical Software Basic and Detailed engineering for Power Quality equipment including its transformer, Switchgear, cabling.  Analyse customer's contract, prepare specifications to vendors and internal stake holders.  Prepare technical documentation as per contractual requirements, vendor documentation review.  Identify technical risks and put in place the mitigation plan.  Review solutions developed and identify opportunities for improvement of process, system, or equipment.  Foster relationship with other GE business entities to maximize the benefits of Synergy Liaise with Platform Engineering, Technology and Value Engineering, and Supply Chain as appropriate to support the project and the business.  Liaise with other GE businesses, platform verticals, supply chain, sub-contractors and suppliers as appropriate to support the project and the business.  Drive lean mind set to provide optimum technical solutions for the projects. Ensure strict compliance with all company and customer EHS policies and procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from reputed College/University Knowledge in system design using ETAP, MATLAB, PLECS and PSCAD. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Project Engineering / Electrical System Engineering Electrical system engineering experience in Industry / Marine / O&G / Power sectors in engineering design of systems based on projects involving Transformers, Switchgears, Cables, E-houses, Power Quality, MV Motors, Hazardous Area Equipment Classification . It is also necessary to have analytical and innovative approach in problem solving  Ability to adapt and multi-task with project/application engineers.  Proficiency in MS Office applications.  Power quality simulation / power system design experience with MATLAB/PSCAD Additional Information Relocation Assistance Provided: No
