Job Description Summary An Engineer in Inspection Engineering will develop and deliver Inspection Tools that are used to perform NDE Inspections of both Boiling Water Reactors and Pressurized Water Reactors at domestic and international Nuclear Plants. The Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of new products and technology with an emphasis in motion control to meet customer needs and overcome complex technical challenges. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities As an Engineer you will: Execute the design, and development for specialty tooling and equipment using sound engineering principles and adhering to engineering standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements. Develop robotic inspection tooling of low to medium complexity though Mechanical, Electrical, Hardware, Software Programming and Motion Control design. Proactively communicate and deliver assignments on time. Identify and mitigate technical risk. Communicate technical detail to fabricators and technicians through the generation of fabrication drawings, electrical diagrams, specifications, and direct communication. Generate operational instructions for newly developed tools and equipment. Contribute to the success of others by providing feedback and technical input during design reviews and verifications. Provide emergent issue response to Field Services teams and Customers as required. Interface with a broad, multi-disciplinary team. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college Minimum of 3 months of experience (internship or Co-Op) in an engineering environment Eligibility Requirements The work location for this role is at the GVH Headquarters Wilmington, NC Ability to obtain commercial nuclear site entry. Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally to other GE Vernova locations, vendors, and customer sites as necessary. This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology.  GE Vernova will require proof of U.S. person status prior to employment. Desired Characteristics 3D CAD design and computer skills. Solid understanding of the principles of Electronics, Electrical Hardware, and Motion Control Understanding of the selection, use, and design of motion control components suitable to operate mechatronic devices. Ability to troubleshoot improperly functioning equipment and implement the proper changes. Ability to assess technical risk and devise suitable means to mitigate. Familiarity with LEAN tools and principles. This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes     For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $72,000.00 and $108,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
