Let’s shape the future of wealth management together. YOUR CHALLENGE GENERAL DESCRIPTION We are seeking a highly skilled Java Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in core Java development, with expertise in Spring/Spring Boot. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing our financial platforms and applications, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability. Note: This is a 12 months contract role with an external agency payroll provider. KEY FEATURES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Design and Development Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions for our financial products and services. Development Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot. Optimize server-side performance and ensure data integrity and security. System Integration Work on integrating various financial systems and third-party services, ensuring smooth data flow and interoperability. Code Quality and Best Practices Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to industry best practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). Troubleshooting and Support Diagnose and resolve technical issues across the stack, providing support for both development and production environments. Collaboration Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and deliverables. Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations YOUR PROFILE SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Relevant higher educational and professional background with ideally at least 5 years of extensive experience in software development including as a backend developer Profound hands-on Java programming skills Core Java & related utilities/libraries, particularly collections, JSON, JDBC, Maven Spring Framework including Spring Boot, JDBC templates and JPA, Messaging and JMS Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills Basic understanding of Unix Operating system and bash scripting Very good command of English language both written and communication skills Good code review skills, and pride in code quality Team player Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects Ability to work in an agile environment Willing to work in a global team that has members in Singapore and Switzerland Relevant work experience in the financial industry preferable We are looking forward to receiving your full job application through our online application tool.
