Job Title Graduate Assistant, Research (CARC) Agency Prairie View A&M University Department Adloc Cooperative Agriculture And Research Center Proposed Minimum Salary $3,000.00 monthly Job Location Prairie View, Texas Job Type Graduate Assistant Job Description The Graduate Assistant, Research position, under general supervision, will assist the Cooperative Agricultural Research Center with all activities associated with the NIFA-funded research project in the greenhouse, field, and farm. Responsibilities : Assisting in preparing soil plots to include watering, weeding, transplanting, and assisting with laboratory and bioinformatics work. Assisting in working extensively in greenhouse and field with grafting cucumbers, to include germination, transplanting seedlings, pasture and crop maintenance, harvesting, etc. Performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in an applicable field. Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Prairie View A&M University. (Minimum of 9 credit hours during the regular fall and spring semesters and 6 semester credit hours for the summer semester). Must be in good academic standing. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have basic knowledge of plants, greenhouse, and farm operations. Must be proficient in operating light equipment such as lawnmower, tiller, and weed eaters. Must be willing to work with plants in the field. Must have a strong background in Chemistry and some knowledge of bioinformatics software.
