The Director of Marketing and Communications for Enrollment Management & Student Success (EMSS) provides strategic leadership in developing, implementing, and assessing comprehensive marketing and communications initiatives that support Prairie View A&M University’s enrollment goals. This role is responsible for enhancing the visibility, reputation, and competitive positioning of the Division of Enrollment Management & Student Success (EMSS) and the Office of the Provost by designing and executing integrated campaigns focused on student recruitment, retention, and success. The Director serves as the primary liaison between EMSS, the Office of the Provost, and the University’s Office of Marketing and Communications, ensuring that enrollment-focused messaging aligns with institutional brand standards while effectively reaching prospective students, families, and key stakeholders. The Director of Marketing and Communications will lead the development and implementation of enrollment-focused marketing and communication strategies. This position will oversee digital campaigns, web content, social media, email, and print communication. This position will also partner with admission, recruitment, student financial services, and student success units to ensure consistent messaging. Responsibilities: Develop and lead a multi-faceted enrollment marketing strategy aligned with institutional goals and student recruitment targets. Develop a comprehensive marketing and communications plan to drive undergraduate, transfer, graduate, and international student enrollment. Create targeted campaigns to promote admissions, financial aid, scholarships, recruitment events, and student success initiatives. Ensure alignment of enrollment management messaging with PVAMU’s overall brand identity, mission, and values. Lead the strategic use of Slate CRM for audience segmentation, content workflows, and event communications. Monitor engagement analytics across channels; apply insights to optimize future messaging, timing, and platforms. Oversee content strategy for enrollment-related web pages, digital ads, social media, email campaigns, and video productions. Create and optimize digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, and retargeting, to expand reach and increase inquiry generation. Provide support to the Office of the Provost with marketing and communications strategies to support to ensuring alignment with academic priorities, initiatives, and institutional messaging. Leverage data analytics, CRM systems (e.g., Slate, Banner, Raptor), and market research to optimize campaigns and measure effectiveness. Develop creative storytelling initiatives that highlight the PVAMU student experience, alumni success, and PV CARES service culture. Partner with Admissions, Recruitment, Student Financial Services, and Student Success units to ensure consistent, student-centered communications. Maintain close partnership with enrollment offices, academic departments, and the financial aid office to ensure accurate, student-centered messaging. Serve as a key advisor to the Vice President for EMSS on marketing trends, student demographics, and competitive positioning. Collaborate with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations on campaigns that highlight scholarships, legacy programs, and community engagement. Coordinate messaging for high-profile enrollment events such as Pantherland Day, Middle School Day, and orientation programs. Develop talking points, presentations, and communications for EMSS leadership to internal and external stakeholders. Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, and media outlets as needed. Supervise communications staff, student interns, and marketing partners within Enrollment Management and Student Success. Provide professional development, mentoring, and performance feedback to staff. Ensure timely and high-quality production of creative assets, publications, and campaigns. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or other related field. Ten years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, preferably in higher education. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong strategic planning, leadership, and project management skills. Knowledge of financial aid processes, programs, verification, need analysis, student budgets, loans, disbursements, return of funds and supervisory responsibilities. Ability to write precise, well-organized emails and letters while using appropriate vocabulary and grammar. Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of individuals and situations requiring diplomacy, friendliness, poise and firmness. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Ability to apply thorough knowledge of policies to a variety of individual situations. Recommends procedures to ensure compliance in a learning community. Ability to work with people from varied cultures. Utilizes excellent constituent service skills with all interactions. Work accurately with high volume and instill similar standard with the counseling unit. Skill in effectively analyzing and interpreting policies, practices, and guidelines with strict attention to detail in all areas of work. Thorough knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs. Thorough knowledge of University policies, processes, and procedures and of Federal and State laws pertaining to the privacy rights of students and access to student information.
