What impact you’ll make As a Field Service Technician, you will be an active contributor to the Field Services team, supporting the delivery of on-site technical services for customer-owned utility and industrial facilities. You will provide hands-on service, technical direction, and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance activities, while completing both field- and workshop-based work as required. Job Description What you’ll do Provide on-site technical direction, hands-on service, and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of customer-owned utility and industrial facilities. Prepare job planning documents defining outage scope using engineering instructions, drawings, and process documentation. Communicate effectively with management and colleagues, incorporating customer CTQs (Critical to Quality) into job planning and execution. Lead and coordinate skilled labor performing work at customer sites. Troubleshoot, inspect, and perform routine maintenance on equipment including power transformers, switchgear, protection relays, control systems, turbines, motors, and generators. Diagnose electromechanical operation and maintenance issues within the Power Delivery field. Perform administrative duties such as technical reporting, material ordering, quotations, job status reports, timesheets, and expense reports. Exercise sound judgment in controlling costs and managing company expenditures. Maintain a strong safety mindset, ensuring all work complies with TGE safety standards and technical requirements. What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications) FP II or Grado Superior in Electrical, Electromechanical Maintenance, or equivalent Electrical Technician/Electrician qualification. Experience in the electrical or power sector, ideally within the wind (renewable energy) industry. Familiar with test equipment and testing procedures. Computer literate, with experience in SCADA systems and standard office software (user level). Unable to work on shifts/guard duties or at heights.
