What you’ll do As the Group Insights Director you will play a key a key role in Group reporting and planning processes, driving central understanding and insight on our Rare Disease business to inform decision making and target setting on this critical area of the business. This role offers the chance to add real business value through enhanced commercial insight, and the opportunity to build strong and wide-ranging networks within Group and Commercial Finance functions. We are looking for a candidate with relevant expertise and experience, but more importantly a problem solver, simplifier, integrator, connector and communicator. Responsibilities: The role reports to the Head of Group Insights Finance Director and will primarily be responsible for: Providing insight, expertise and analysis to help drive and shape the commercial performance of AstraZeneca Being the authority for the Rare Disease business within the Group Finance team, acting as the link between the commercial unit and the Group function across all planning and reporting cycles Proactively identifying, collating and analysing a range of financial and non-financial data to develop a deep understanding of the drivers of performance and key emerging trends impacting our Rare Disease business Ensuring that key planning assumptions and drivers of performance are understood, bringing constructive challenge to forecasts, planning assumptions and resource allocation based on credible insights, intelligence & analysis Preparing stretched but attainable targets that align to the Enterprise’s strategic and financial objectives Developing an understanding of the 10 year Rare Disease Long Term Plan, including a view on pipeline assets and potential Handling a range of other ad-hoc requests in support of the CEO and SET/Board reporting Identifying and acting on continuous improvement and digitization opportunities in GFP&A processes, performance and reporting Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience Essential for the role: Experienced and analytical Finance professional with the ability to deliver succinct, high impact briefing material suitable for SET / Board level audiences Finance/Business qualification e.g. Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/MBA Excellent academic record Curious, proactive and delivery focused, comfortable working in a dynamic, challenging environment Energetic, resilient and tenacious Excellent influencing and communication skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and ability to drive bigger picture thinking Good networking and relationship building skills Desirable for the role: Experience of Commercial Finance and/or Group FP&A, preferably within a large pharmaceutical business Strong systems skills; advanced Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, knowledge of Hyperion Planning would also be advantageous Date Posted 05-Jan-2026 Closing Date 01-Feb-2026 Our mission is to build an inclusive and equitable environment.
