Department: ICE | PTSL | OPC Pharmacy Technicians Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, the Pharmacy Technician I/II/III/IV supports the outpatient pharmacist with the preparation and delivery of medications to ambulatory patients or outpatient clinics. The Pharmacy Technician I/II/III/IV will work as a team member to efficiently, and accurately perform day-to-day work along with any additional tasks or projects to help achieve departmental goals. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:   Level I: Pharmacy technician license through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for AR licensure. Level II: Two (2) years of pharmacy technician work experience Pharmacy technician license through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for AR licensure. Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician  (CPhT)  issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Level III: Three (3) years of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or retail setting Pharmacy Technician License through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for AR licensure. National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) issued by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and EMR experience) Level IV: Four ( 4) years of pharmacy technician experience or Bachelors Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training or certificate program Pharmacy Technician License through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for AR licensure. According to the UAMS Pharmacy Technician Career Ladder, a Pharmacy Technician II/III/IV may be assigned one of these specialized roles: automation, controlled substances, pharmacy buyer, investigational drugs, medication reconciliation, compounding specialist or WAM (retail) order entry, and may also support operations of the vaccine clinics.
