Prior to submitting your application, please review and update (if necessary) the information in your candidate profile as it will transfer to your application.  Job Title: Research Senior Technician Department: Arts and Sciences | Evolution Ecology and Organismal Biology The Research Senior Technician will work on a project focused on understanding colloidal phosphorus cycling and bioavailability in the western Lake Erie watershed. Duties include conducting field sampling, running colloidal P binding & release experiments, running colloidal equilibrium phosphorus experiments (cECP), and processing dissolved, colloid, sediment, and plant samples for phosphorus, nitrogen, carbon, chlorophyll-a and other constituents. The Research Senior Technician will also be responsible for running dissolved samples on an ICP-OES and analyzing the data. Assists in the design of laboratory and field experiments, and surveys, including instream sampling and cEPC and P binding and release experiments. Oversees and trains undergraduate and graduate students who work on various aspects of this project or allied projects. Supports allied projects by conducting lab analyses when available. Curates and analyzes data and helps prepare reports and scientific manuscripts. Opportunities for mentoring undergraduate students and collaborating on research projects are available. Knowledge of ecology, freshwater science, or biogeochemistry.
