Maine Department of Transportation  Salary: $22.08 - $30.89 per hour ( Salary Schedule ) *Salary includes a 2.5% stipend* Office/Bureau: Project Development - Property Office Opening Date : January 14, 2026 Closing Date: January 29, 2026 Job Description: This is technical services work in performing difficult and moderately complex engineering duties in a variety of field and office engineering specialties. This position serves as a member of the Maine DOT Property Office based out of the MDOT Regional Headquarters in Scarborough, Maine. Primary responsibilities include conducting topographic, GPS, construction, and other survey work as part of a field crew. Additional responsibilities include research and acquisition of public and civil records, tracking and data entry of Property Owner Reports (PORs), and maintenance and calibration of survey equipment. Work requires the ability to use complex electronic survey equipment and related software, computer skills to process survey data, and perform editing tasks associated with research and data entry in Realty Management System (RMS). May act as survey crew chief on an as-needed basis. This position requires attention to detail and a commitment to acquiring accurate survey and property information. To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience: Five (5) years of experience in engineering –OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and three (3) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering.
