Job Description: The Drinking Water Program is tasked with overseeing public drinking water systems throughout Maine and administering federal and state safe drinking water regulations. The Drinking Water State Revolving Fund provides low-interest loans and other financial assistance for public drinking water infrastructure improvement projects. As the State Revolving Fund Engineer/Project Manager, you will have a range of responsibilities, including: •        Reviewing and approving designs for public drinking water system improvements, ensuring designs are appropriate and compliant with all state and federal safe drinking water requirements. •        Representing the DWSRF as a project manager for public water system construction projects, including reviewing construction plans, engineering agreements, payment reimbursement requests and ensuring federal and state requirements are met. •        Conducting environmental reviews to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of projects and activities receiving DWSRF assistance. •        Traveling to and participating in construction meetings for assigned projects across Maine. (Travel expenses are reimbursable.) •        Developing and presenting public education materials associated with drinking water system improvements and the DWSRF program.   Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelors Degree in Environmental, Civil, Sanitary, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering and four (4) years of engineering experience.   Related experience may be substituted for education on a year or year basis. LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:   (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class). Licensure as a Professional Engineer by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers. Preferred Candidates will also have: •        Knowledge and experience with civil, mechanical, chemical, and sanitary engineering principles and practices related to water treatment technology and facilities. •        Experience with investigation, planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of water treatment facilities. •        Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations and experience with administering construction contracts Thinking about applying?
