During a typical day, you can expect to: Inspect electrical installations for compliance with laws, rules, standards, and the National Electrical Code, Conduct investigations of complaints filed with the Electricians’ Examining Board, Advise and instruct electricians licensed in Maine as to the correct use and implementation of state laws and national codes. Coordinating travel arrangements to inspection sites, which may involve reimbursable overnight stays. Because this work involves enforcing electrical codes for other electricians, private electrical work on the side is not permitted. Minimum qualifications: Possession of a Maine Master Electrician’s License. LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :    (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class). Licensed as a Master Electrician in Maine. Preference will be given to those applicants: Very familiar with state laws and national standards pertaining to the regulation of electrical installations in Maine. Understand the National Electrical Code.
