With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing heath challenges.  The position is based in Kigali, Rwanda PATH is currently recruiting a Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Officer to support advocacy and strategic communications efforts focused on strengthening regulatory systems and advancing the African Medicines Agency (AMA) agenda across Africa. If you are the successful candidate, you will play a pivotal role in the creation and delivery of clear and consistent communication outputs, including producing compelling narratives, amplifying regional progress, and mobilizing stakeholder engagement to accelerate access to lifesaving health innovations, through regulatory efficiency .  Your work will help ensure underserved populations benefit from advances in r esearch & d evelopment and technology, making health innovation a global common good. You will be a PATH employee within the Center for Advocacy and Policy, seconded to AMA at 80 %. You will have a solid reporting line to PATH’s Regional Policy Lead for Health Research and Development, and a dotted reporting line to AMA’s Communications Lead within the AMA Secretariat.       Through our Center for Advocacy and Policy, we:   Build breakthroughs as a policy lab, turning data and research into bold, evidence‑based policy ideas.   Ignite action as an advocacy impact accelerator, shaping and executing high-impact advocacy strategies.   Connect and strengthen movements and coalitions as a field catalyst, bridging actors, filling critical gaps, and forging powerful networks for enduring change.   Responsibilities: Develop and implement a strategic communications and stakeholder engagement plan in collaboration with AMA leadership to support AMA and regulatory systems strengthening initiatives across Africa.   Create high-quality content including policy briefs, success stories, media releases, social media posts, and other advocacy materials that elevate AMA as well as PATH’s work and impact.   Translate complex regulatory and R&D concepts into accessible, engaging messages tailored to policymakers, donors, civil society, and the public.   Support the organization of high-level events, webinars, and learning exchanges, ensuring strategic messaging and brand alignment.   Collaborate with technical teams and partners to capture and disseminate best practices and lessons learned in regulatory harmonization and capacity building.   Manage digital and traditional media outreach to raise visibility of AMA and PATH’s contributions to regulatory excellence.   Monitor and evaluate communications activities to report on progress and ensure alignment with AMA goals and donor expectations.   Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including AU bodies, national regulatory authorities, media, and advocacy networks.     Represent AMA and PATH in strategic convenings and support multi-stakeholder convenings to address policy and regulatory challenges.   Work closely with PATH’s Senior Program Officer-Regulatory, elevating thought leadership—develop policy briefs, articles, and other advocacy communications that advance Africa’s regulatory harmonization agenda.   Required Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in communications , Public Health, International Relations, Journalism, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.   Strategic Communications – Proven experience designing and executing communications strategies for global health or policy initiatives.   Technical Translation – Strong ability to distill complex scientific or regulatory information into compelling, actionable messages.   Content Creation – Demonstrated skill in writing, editing, and producing multimedia content for diverse audiences. Strong proficiency in written and verbal communications in English.   Stakeholder Engagement – Experience working with governments, AU institutions, civil society, and media partners.   Project Management – Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs on deadline.   AMA Engagement – Familiarity with AMA’s mandate, operations, and Africa’s regulatory harmonization initiatives (e.g., AMRH, AVAREF).   Health Innovation Storytelling – Experience communicating about health technologies, R&D, or regulatory systems.   Multilingual Skills – Proficiency in English required ; French, Portuguese, or Arabic is an asset.   Digital Communication – Experience with social media strategy, digital campaigns, and analytics tools. Must have legal authorization to work in Rwanda .
