The Secretary provides the physician faculty with a variety of supportive services necessary for the unit operations, so that optimal quality care can be delivered. The team provides patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achievement of patient care outcomes through the integrated skills of all team members in the department. The Secretary, as a member of the team, is responsible to serve as a liaison between professional and technical staff, patients, general public and other departments. This position manages procedure scheduling for radiation oncology. Provides support to one or more physicians within the Department of Radiation Oncology. The position coordinates multiple calendars; organizes and schedules meetings, conferences and special projects; prepares and distributes agendas; schedules travel accommodations both domestic and international; researches, compiles and provides information to aid the physician faculty in decision making; conveys directives, assignments and decisions from the clinical faculty; initiates, responds to and follows up on correspondence; composes and edits letters, reports, and other documents; regularly interacts with faculty, college and health system leadership, as well as the department's management team and staff; provides as needed, special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
