The position is hands-on and is responsible for the production of hot and cold foods under the direction of the Sous Chef. Essential Duties and Responsibilities ·Maintains organized sanitary workstation at all times. ·Properly labels and dates food items for storage. ·Assists in the preparation of cut vegetables, baked goods and cold sauces. ·Minimizes waste by controlling overage and usage. ·Follows approved recipes and production standards. Qualifications Ability to read and understand English. Ability to lift 40 pounds. Ability to produce high quality food in a fast paced environment. Positive, customer service oriented attitude at all times. Strong knowledge of sanitary practices. Maintains proper grooming and dress code standards. Work ethic encourages strong urgency and quality in a team environment. Education and/or Experience           One year of experience in food service as a prep cook is highly preferred. Working Environment/Conditions Kitchen environment – otherwise not substantially exposed to adverse work conditions. Hours of Work and Travel Requirements Irregular hours including some nights and weekends based on facility event schedule. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Up to 5 minutes at a time.  Daily carrying up to 25 lbs. up to 5 minutes at a time. Ability to distinguish color. See and distinguish objects or symbols as 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less.  Depth perception, peripheral vision and bringing objects into focus. Climbing ladders and staircases multiple times per day as needed to pick stock. Constant standing, walking, stooping.  Constant reaching, handling products.
