MAYO CIVIC CENTER POSITION: Conversion Crew DEPARTMENT: Operations REPORTS TO: Operations Manager FLSA STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt Salary Range: $15.30 - $17.30 Benefits: Paid Sick Leave Under general supervision, the position is responsible for the timely set-up and strike of all equipment necessary to successfully complete changeovers that facilitate the maximum utilization of the facility.  This job is an on-call position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operationally responsible for event set-ups and the timely set-up and strike of all equipment necessary to successfully complete changeovers that facilitate the maximum utilization of the facility. Set-ups include arena concerts, art center weddings, auditorium basketball games, conventions in any space, meeting room sets, banquet round sets, theater, and presentation hall events. Operates special equipment associated with the set and conversions of the various facilities, including, hand tools, forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts. May perform skilled work in a variety of building trades. Performs related work as assigned. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or its equivalent. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain a safe driving record. Knowledge of facilities and equipment including removal of basketball floors, various seating systems, table, chair, and staging set-ups, etc. Must possess critical thinking skills and be able to problem solve independently. Knowledge of the methods, tools, equipment, and materials normally used in maintenance and event changeover activities. Skills and Abilities: Ability to work effectively with fellow workers and the public. Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods and to operate tools and equipment used in stadium and auditorium-type facilities work. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to initiative to maintain the facility Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks at any given time Understand verbal and written instructions, with the ability to read and understand English Other Qualifications: Availability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to event functions, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Adheres to facility dress code and grooming standards. Follow established safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing this job's duties, the employee must walk extensively, sometimes to kneel or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires work inside and outside of the building and some exposure to adverse conditions.
