POSITION OVERVIEW: The successful candidate will join a team of professionals supporting Hybrid and Secondaries fund finance team. The candidate will be tasked with the quality execution of the day-to-day core accounting responsibilities, driving improvements in processes and reporting, and engaging in problem-solving. This role involves working closely with several departments within Apollo including investment and portfolio management team, valuation and pricing, legal, tax and marketing to ensure the preparation of accurate and timely information. We are seeking a talented and dedicated professional with the ability to be part of a versatile team and a strong desire to learn and develop in their career. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Month end close process, including preparation of NAV packages for inhouse books and review of the ones prepared by the fund administrators with all the relevant supporting documentation. Maintain fund’s books at VPM and investor allocations in Investran. Calculation of management fees & incentive fees on hedge and PE style structures. Coordinate the year end audits, including audited financial statements. Reporting quarterly and annually accounting information to corporate accounting. Responsible for portfolio valuation review and P&L attribution reporting for the funds. Manage a high volume of investor inquiries, reporting, and ad-hoc requests. Track and record the quarterly CAS and capital activities letters from portfolio companies. Maintain detailed expenditures budgets across funds and preparation of payment wires. Identify and analyze daily cash activity for various fund entities. Manage quality relationships with external parties like administrators, legal counsel, depositories. Coordinate closely with internal counterparts in Corporate, Operations, Marketing, Tax, Legal, and front office functions. Complete daily, weekly & monthly fund reporting including liquidity and investment metrics. Contribute to ongoing internal business reviews & reporting for senior leaders Analyze complex fund structures and manage entities within these structures. Special Projects: Execute on ad-hoc requests from senior leaders Qualifications & Experience Chartered Accountant preferred 2-3 years (Fund accounting/Fund Controller) experience preferred Previous Hedge Fund/PE Style/Secondaries Business/Financial Services experience a plus Experience with general ledger accounting software a plus A critical thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills who expresses their thoughts and ideas clearly both in oral and written communications. A collaborative mindset who can also work independently, multitask, and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A proactive and organized self-starter with a positive attitude, powerful work ethic, strong attention to detail and advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
