If you are interested in joining a world-class team of passionate people and industry veterans who care about code quality, architecture, design and user experience as much as having fun together, then we’d like to talk to you.    Responsibilities: Engage, attract, and retain top talent Provide project and technical leadership to engineers in a fast-paced environment Drive technical excellence and implementation of best engineering practices Enforce design review, continuous integration and test driven development Coordinate with partner teams when required, help unblock teams and resolve issues across teams Lead hands-on implementation work to keep current with technology trends inside and outside Yahoo Work closely with product management and development teams to define the next generation of communication products Qualifications: BS degree in Computer Science with 8+ years of hands-on experience in delivering large-scale backend applications, 2 years of team management experience Experience with OOP: C++, Java, or similar Experience with web servers like Tomcat/Apache/Jetty, Kubernetes framework, TestNG framework Understanding of large scale web applications (clustering, scalability, caching, performance tuning) Experience with scripting languages such as Javascript/Node.js, Ruby, PHP, Perl and Python Understanding of agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and agile engineering practices like Test-Driven Development, Continuous integration, and other Extreme programming practices Proficient in a Unix/Linux environment, HTTP, Web services, and Restful API Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Preferred Qualifications: Experience building web applications on cloud like AWS/GCP Experience with SCRUM or similar agile development methodology Experience with AI Code Assist Tools like Cursor/ClaudeCode Important notes for your attention Applications:   All applicants must apply for Yahoo openings direct with Yahoo.  We do not authorize any external agencies in India to handle candidates’ applications.   No agency nor individual may charge candidates for any efforts they make on an applicant’s behalf in the hiring process.   Our internal recruiters will reach out to you directly to discuss the next steps if we determine that the role is a good fit for you.  Selected candidates will go through formal interviews and assessments arranged by Yahoo direct.   Offer Distributions:   Our electronic offer letter and documents will be issued through our system for e-signatures, not via individual emails.
