We are hiring a Java Tech Lead to architect, build, and lead delivery of microservice-based applications deployed on AWS. You will lead a small cross-functional development team, collaborate with product. What You'll Do Lead and mentor a development team (planning, code reviews) Architect and implement microservices using Java 17 (Spring/Spring Boot preferred) Own technical design, API design, and system integration patterns Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments Deploy and operate applications on AWS (EC2-based deployments); collaborate with DevOps Ensure robust database design and performance with relational databases Drive test automation, code quality, observability (logging/metrics), and incident response Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with product owners and QA Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes Communicate technical trade-offs and roadmap to stakeholders What We're Looking For 5–7 years of professional experience leading development teams (team lead, tech lead, or similar) Strong hands-on Java development experience targeting Java 17 Proven experience designing and building microservice architectures Experience deploying and handling applications on AWS EC2 Solid knowledge of relational databases (schema design, SQL tuning) Practical experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar) Familiar with containerization (Docker); Openshift/Redhat experience is a plus Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies and experience working in Scrum teams Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (or equivalent experience)       Location Bangalore, India       The #TeamGBT Experience Work and life: Find your happy medium at Amex GBT.
