Duty Station: Based in Dnipro, with operational coverage and frequent travel within Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv oblasts. JOB SUMMARY: The Psychiatrist will provide specialized psychiatric consultations and treatment to clients with moderate and severe mental disorders in community or home settings, either as part of mobile medical teams or independently. The role also includes providing general medical consultations and treatment for acute and chronic conditions as needed; supporting pharmaceutical management, including psychotropic medications; conducting structured clinical assessments; maintaining strict confidentiality in documentation; managing emergencies; coordinating referrals; and participating in Ministry of Health (MoH) case management meetings. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide specialized psychiatric consultations and treatment to clients with moderate and severe mental disorders in community or home settings. Assess clients’ specific needs and develop individualized case-management strategies accordingly. In close collaboration with the psychologist, physician, and nurse, work to ensure the physical and mental health and well-being of the most vulnerable clients through daily home visits. Provide basic medical consultation and treatment for acute and chronic conditions when required and make appropriate referrals. Conduct group psychoeducation sessions and/or training courses. Provide Psychological First Aid (PFA) and conduct field visits for this purpose. Support the pharmacist project in the management of pharmaceuticals, including psychotropic medications. Effectively manage urgent cases, make appropriate referrals, and actively participate in MoH case management meetings. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services provided while maintaining client confidentiality. Actively participate in supervision meetings. Provide regular reports on activities undertaken. Receive and promptly redirect referrals from other IRC departments, external organizations. Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor in support of the MHPSS program objectives. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Medical degree with specialization in Psychiatry. At least 3 years of professional experience in psychiatry in clinical and/or direct practice settings. Prior experience in health programs and NGO work is desirable. Knowledge of and experience in clinical supervision and training. Familiarity with and application of IASC MHPSS guidelines and best practices as part of prior work experience. Significant experience in clinical supervision, training, and/or coaching of others. Experience in assessment, program development, evaluation, and technical training/supervision using WHO’s Mental Health Gap Action Program (mhGAP). Clear understanding of protection principles, case management, and client-centered care in humanitarian settings. Fluency in Ukrainian is required; basic English is desirable. Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, essential for tasks such as data collection, map updates, and providing detailed weekly reports on outreach activities. Works closely with: Other members of the mobile medical team (nurse, medical doctor, and psychologist), the MHPSS Manager, and regional protection teams.
