Job Responsibilities: Job Introduction The Accountant, Finance plays an important role in the Magna Global IT Finance team. This position is responsible for all general accounting for the North America region and also supports the accounts receivable/payable processes when required. Working closely with the IT Finance Team in North America, the Accountant, Finance will ensure the financial results are complete and accurate for each month end close.  Major Responsibilities Create and post journal entries Prepare bank entries and reconciliations Fixed assets accounting Maintain general and sub ledgers Month-end close Monitor and reconcile Intercompany and other specific accounts Assist with the preparation of month-end, quarterly and year-end working papers Back up for AR invoicing process, A/P process, expense reports & payroll (salaried) entries Assist in corporate, managerial and tax reporting requirements Other duties as required Knowledge and Education Accounting degree/diploma or equivalent job experience Working towards a Professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred but not required Work Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Accounting field Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) with intermediate knowledge of Excel Accounting software experience – SAP is an asset Ability to prioritize tasks Effective written and oral communication skills Responsible, works well independently as well as in a team Skills and Competencies Communicate effectively with coworkers and affiliates Attention to detail and self-motivated Analyze data and focus on continuous improvement Be organized and troubleshoot problems Obtain or provide routine information Solid English language skills (written and verbal) German language skills is an asset Awareness, Unity, Empowerment: At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
