This role requires an enterprise mindset to build out robust, high-performance technology solutions. The Senior Manager position mixes strong hands-on technical leadership with the management of matrixed resources, and if required, multiple teams, to achieve desired business outcomes. It is expected that this person is as excited about developing code as they are about developing the skills and competencies of the team at large. Duties and Responsibilities, aligned with Key Results: *** This is a Remote Position Required Skills and Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead and energize teams to exceed goals and consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience and judgment Command of one or more Machine Learning/Deep Learning frameworks, including Keras, PyTorch, Caffe, Scikit-Learn or Tensorflow. Knowledge of common optimization algorithms and the approaches to tuning and evaluating such algorithms. Knowledge of one or more database platforms, preferably cloud-based. Experience deploying, monitoring, and maintaining data pipelines in production environments Design models of data processing that implement the intended business model Develop diagrams representing key data entities and their relationships Generate a list of components needed to build the designed system People Use a variety of leading-edge AI/ML tools to develop, test, and maintain data pipelines within the Platform Reference Architecture. Championing a culture of innovation, encouraging team collaboration and self-organization to deliver high-quality AI/ML solutions. Ensure data implementations align with cutting-edge technological trends and business needs. Work directly with management, product teams and practice personnel to understand and execute on their AI/ML requirements. Client Leading an agile team to design, develop, test, implement and support highly scalable AI/ML solutions and providing architectural and code-level guidance where required. Ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives and client requirements. Collaborate with product teams and clients to deliver robust cloud-based AI/ML solutions that drive tax decisions and provide powerful experiences! Analyze user feedback and activity and iterate to improve the services and user experience. Value Collaborating with other senior leaders to align cloud data solutions with broader business objectives and to ensure they meet the evolving needs of the organization and its clients. Function as a subject matter expert by staying current on the latest research, experimenting with new technologies, and sharing that knowledge internally. Ensure strict compliance with all information and data security policies, best practices and requirements. Create and implement robust cloud-based data solutions that scale effectively, and provide powerful experiences for both internal teams and clients Perform unit tests and conduct reviews with other team members to make sure solutions and code are rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in a related field. 7+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or applied analytics. Proven experience leading high-performing teams of data scientists, ML engineers, data engineers, or other data and analytics professionals. Hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying enterprise ML solutions to production, including end-to-end model lifecycle ownership (not prototypes only). Strong coding experience in Python (required) with experience overseeing or contributing to solutions written in Java, Scala, or C. Direct experience building cloud-based data and ML solutions using AWS or Azure. Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining production data pipelines. Hands-on experience with at least one ML framework, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn. Strong system and data architecture skills, including the ability to design ML systems, create data models, develop architecture diagrams, and define system components. Experience working in mixed Windows and Linux environments. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research. Supervisory Responsibilities: This role will have supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: Standard indoor working environment. Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer. Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 30 lbs. Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm and interface with external vendors as necessary.
