The Field Service Engineer is responsible for all aspects of equipment support performed at customer sites or prior to delivery, ensuring all activities are completed in compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures. This includes pre-installation checks, system installation and commissioning, planned maintenance, troubleshooting, assessment, and breakdown repair. The Field Service Engineer serves as the main point of contact for local customers and the local commercial team regarding all service and repair–related matters. The role is based in Bucharest, Romania, but is not limited to this location. Travel within Romania is expected up to 75%, with occasional travel to surrounding countries. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Lead and execute installations and commissioning of new equipment Perform preventive maintenance as per service manual checklist. Perform appropriate testing to confirm system functionality according to the manufacturer's specifications Provide testing and validation support and data to the Global Service organization Assist in technical support for users of complex systems. Including phone and remote support for users and technical staff Collaborate with other field service engineers to troubleshoot difficult service activities Travel to sites to work as a member of the local team to provide efficient repair/installation support Required Knowledge and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Biomedical / Electronics) with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and strong troubleshooting skills Experience working with capital equipment in a healthcare and/or surgical (operating room) environment Strong problem-solving ability with the capacity to work independently and a customer-focused mindset Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills  Fluent in spoken Romanian and English Willingness to travel approximately 75% domestically and internationally, work outside core office hours, and hold a full driving licence Physical Job Requirements The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.  Benefits & Compensation Medtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits Package A commitment to our employees lives at the core of our values.
