How You Will Contribute: Manage and track lab equipment and materials using the GEMS Oracle database inventory control system. Receive and verify delivered supplies, materials, and telecommunication equipment against purchase order specifications. Coordinate equipment and material shipments, including marshalling, scanning, and logistics documentation. Maintain organization in the lab, stockroom, and receiving areas to ensure efficient storage and handling. Implement and oversee labeling systems for lab equipment and locations. Conduct periodic physical inventory scans and address noncompliance reports. Collaborate with lab teams on moves, deployments, and decommissioning of lab systems while adhering to established operating processes and policies. Experience in data analysis across different Ciena inventory and tracking systems (GEMS, MCS, Oracle, DMS) Monitor and ensure adherence to defined inventory control processes for tracking of CA1 and RMA (FA) equipment in Ottawa R&D lab facilities including: Collaborate with Material Management, OPS, and Subo NPI to: Define process and establish control elements Identify and resolve process issues Reviewing and maintaining overall inventory data integrity and address variances. Provide daily operational support to equipment transition (inbound/outbound) Support year end corporate audits of CA1 equipment The Must Haves: Minimum of 8+ years of experience in inventory management or a related field. Proficiency in using inventory control systems like Oracle GEMS. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Familiarity with JIRA tracking systems for inventory request management. Pay Range: The salary range for this role in Ottawa is $67, 400 - $107, 600 Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
