Join Ciena’s Security team—a close-knit group of professionals dedicated to defending our company, products, and reputation. With increasing regulatory requirements, security threats, and customer expectations, we’re expanding and tackling exciting challenges to build a proactive security program. How You Will Contribute Lead end-to-end project management for cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring successful delivery from planning to closure. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and status reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Security, IT, Product, Engineering, and Compliance, to align priorities and objectives. Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, driving proactive mitigation strategies. Provide regular reports and metrics to stakeholders, highlighting progress, improvements, and the current state of the security posture. Drive continuous improvement in project management practices, governance, and reporting. Optimize resource allocation to maximize project efficiency and effectiveness. The Must Haves Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus). 6+ years of proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in cybersecurity or information security. Strong understanding of vulnerability management practices, tools, and methodologies. Proficiency in Agile project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) with certifications such as CSM, CSPO, or CSP-SM. Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and Office 365 for project management and documentation. Knowledge of common security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO) and industry standards. Strong communication skills to convey technical information effectively to diverse stakeholders. Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or PMP are advantageous. Nice to Haves Experience managing diverse teams of cybersecurity professionals. In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and industry standards. Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls. Agile coaching principles and practices expertise.
