FHI 360 is seeking applications for the position of   Principal Investigator (PI)   for   an anticipated   five-year USG funded HIV services and related health systems activity   in Zambia . The primary goal of the Activity aims to sustain HIV services by strengthening government-led, cost-effective health systems. It supports evidence-based HIV treatment, laboratory services, adherence, and retention, alongside health systems strengthening focused on sustainability, monitoring systems, and the health workforce.   PIleads  the   project   and   is   responsible   for   achieving   the   project’s   vision   and   strategy,   directing   the project technical team, and managing critical relationships with national and international partners and other key stakeholders. Incumbent has overall programmatic and fiscal responsibility for the project, including achieving project results, effectively communicating accomplishments, making financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all US government and the organization’s regulations.   Recruitment is contingent upon successful award of the project, and the selection of the final applicant is subject to USG approval.     Accountabilities:   The PI will provide overall technical and administrative leadership and   expertise   for the project.   Will   be responsible for   the overall management and implementation of the project and will serve as the primary liaison with CDC on management and technical matters .   Serve   as the primary liaison with Government of Zambia’s Ministry of Health and other relevant government agencies on coordination and alignment of project activities wi th   national   nd   as   the primary liaison with Government of Zambia’s Ministry of Health and other relevant government agencies on coordination and alignment of project activities with national publ ic   h ea lth   priorities and goals.   Ensure that the project meets stated goals, outcomes, benchmarks, and reporting requirements within the approved budget parameters.   Promote the use of recognized evidence-based tools and promising innovations in HIV management   to strengthen   the capacities of health practitioners.   Take a leadership role in coordination with relevant key stakeholders, including partners, government stakeholders,   CDC,   and other donor projects.   Manage and coordinate the implementation of activities across project partners, ensuring successful integration of activities.   Oversee project planning (i. e.,   development of work plans and project budget), monitoring and reporting (i.e., review and approve periodic budgets and technical and financial reports)   in accordance with   CDC’s standards and FHI360’s policies.   Provide strategic management and oversight of the project’s subaward portfolio.   Ensure compliance with relevant rules, regulations and policies of the US and Zambia governments and FHI 360.   Lead performance management of direct reports.   Responsible   for   creating,   promoting,   and   maintaining   safe   and   equitable   work   environments for all personnel, including a harassment- and violence-free work culture, and systems for safeguarding project participants .     Education   & Experience :   **   Master’s Degree or   International   Equivalent   in public health or relevant field.     Typically requires 15+ years of relevant experience with projects management principles and practices (including 10+ years of strategic leadership and/or line management experience).    Typically requires a minimum of 5+ years of Chief of Party, Principal Investigator or Project Director experience   i n   government funded sector and/or value chain development projects.   Demonstrable experience   in public health, health systems, health policy , and HIV programs .   Experience in Sub Saharan Africa, preferably Zambia .   Experience working on and leading teams for CDC awards.   Experience working in a non-governmental organization (NGO).   Knowledge of USG rules, regulations, and policies.   Demonstrated leadership skills.   Demonstrated   track record   of successfully building and effectively managing a diverse team of employees and partners.   Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments, and work with and between different stakeholders.   Ability to develop and   maintain   strong relationships with government and community stakeholders.   Demonstrated skills in problem solving and consensus building.   The candidate must be demonstrably proficient (oral, writing and reading) in English.   This job posting summarizes the main duties of the job.
