ITOC Compute Specialist is the key to a healthy and efficient Infrastructure Solution. This individual will be responsible of installing, configuring, troubleshooting and Administration of the compute. He/she is responsible for all internal and external Technical communications relating to servers and virtualization. How you will make your mark: Lead every aspect of Compute Infrastructure He/she manages and coordinates activities that may span multiple technologies with primary skill on Severs and Operating system. Owns the Compute related topics, He/she is the Single point of contact for all the associated discussions and work: Reactive and proactive, including changes, patching, upgrades and impact analysis and assessment. Demonstrates leadership and be the designated point of contact for the Technical Escalation Process related to Compute. Share ‘Best Practice’ among other Technology peers & Teams in the Managed Servies community and be required to actively look for and identify pro-active / issue prevention opportunities where these present themselves. Supporting and troubleshooting Compute issues in a large, complex and widely distributed environment. Manage technical action planning across multiple customers / partner resources, teams and other domain SMEs, while leading development of Compute technical action plan. Communicate Technical action plan, drive internal HPE Technical Teams / Customer / Partner communications. Capable of working constructively in a highly pressurized environment. Strong resiliency in a stress environment. Willing to work after office hours to manage critical customer escalations when necessary; 24x7 availability as required for ‘Out of Hours’ (OOH) coverage. Demonstrates the ability to work with and be sensitive to other cultures. Skilled in utilizing methodologies for problem management and resolution of escalated issues. Provides highly innovative management of complex IT environment and solutions. Create opportunities to increase the competence of the work group in a proactive and consistent way. Identifies and communicates possible trainings that will remedy inefficiencies and/or capacity/capability challenges as appropriate. Able to train and upskills colleagues on Compute to create flexibility and alternatives within the team. Lead / drive virtual technical teams within HPE / Partner in order to isolate the cause of Compute related issues. Work with the support Vendors teams, customer account team, HPE / Partner onshore and offshore teams, as well as other stakeholders like Managed Services Manager, Consultants, Customer Business Manager, Escalation manager etc. Negotiate to bring correct resources together to focus on an issue Plan and implement best practices for Servers/Compute. Create and update documentation for procedures, solutions and applicable project artifacts. Job specific responsibilities include maintaining complex Solutions which may involve Storage, backup, Applications and DB. About you: Technologies and Concepts – Sharp Domain expertise in HW, Windows OS and Vmware. Good knowledge of Virtualization technologies (at least one), Storage Array (at least), SAN concepts, D2D & Tape Library concepts including associated technologies in an Enterprise multi-site Backup environment, to be able to drive meaningful technical discussions. Solid experience on Compute Troubleshooting, Configuration, Upgrade, extensive understanding of Vmware. In-depth understanding of end to end monitoring of Complex Environment with skills on collaborating with Experts from the team to configure, deploy related solution and to monitor it. In-depth understanding of configuring, deploying Disaster Recovery options. Strong understanding of Datacentre Technologies – Server, Networking, Storage, Virtualization, Operating Systems, Security, Backup/Restore/DR etc. Problem detection and analysis of root cause. Proven ability to lead teams for Compute questions to achieve results, exercise independent judgment and handle unique situations to accomplish goals in tight time frames. Medium level of planning, project management and change management skills. Good presentation skills. Ability to influence different functions, geographies, and the ability to build strong consensus. Impacts internal and external clients on WW basis. French, English and any other language will be considered as a plus. Professional degree with 5+ years related Relevant IT experience Hands on experience in Operations and Support on Servers, SW and Virtualization Aptitude towards problem solving and troubleshooting skills on Compute. Knowledge of Remote Support and Remote monitoring processes and concepts Certifications: Ideal candidate will be a confirmed Compute engineers with solid experience on Vmware and Microsoft.
