Job Description:     New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Cost Analyst A financial analyst specializing in new product introduction (NPI) is responsible for collaborating with product teams and business unit managers to model and analyze the financials associated with launching new products. This role supports initiatives to track financial data from the initial plan of record (POR) through the entire product lifecycle, ensuring transparency and accuracy in product costs and financial metrics such as ROI and NPV. Key Responsibilities Build and Maintain Financial Models: Develop complex financial models in Excel or other tools, based on historical data and input from product leadership. These models are used to forecast costs, revenues, and profitability for new products. Scenario and Sensitivity Analysis: Conduct scenario modeling to assess business risks and opportunities Track and Compare Financial Metrics: Monitor POR financial data and compare planned metrics against actual results throughout the product lifecycle, looking for opportunities to improve future modeling. Detailed Cost Breakdown: Analyze and report on bill of materials (BoM) costs, including raw materials, supply chain burdens, external fees, OEM costs, and regional cost differences.  The ability to efficiently extract and ensure the accuracy of these costs will be a critical part of this role. Reporting and Presentation: Prepare and present financial reports, findings, and recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams. Support Strategic Decision-Making: Provide actionable insights to guide product strategy, pricing, and investment decisions. Process Improvement: Recommend and implement measures to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial modeling and reporting. Education and Experience Required: First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) preferred. Typically 6+ years of experience as a financial analyst. Typically experienced in more than one finance function. Knowledge and Skills: Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis, with advanced knowledge in one area. Excellent analytical skills. Excellent business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, S4, iCost). Excellent communication and influencing skills. Superior teamwork skills Strong business acumen. Good project management skills.
