We’re seeking someone to join our CDRR Technology team as a Java Fullstack Developer, in Non-Financial Risk Technology to We are seeking someone to join our team as a Full Stack Developer at Associate level as part of the Sustainable Finance and Resilience Technology Department within Non-Financial Risk Technology which sits in the division Cyber, Risk Resilience & Data division. The position will be a core part of the team focusing on building an Operational Mapping Data platform. In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is Associate position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs. What you’ll do in the role: The candidate should be a strong technical Java developer, with expertise in the full SDLC process an ideally at a major enterprise. Candidates will require strong design and implementation fundamentals. Prior experience in technology disaster recovery, business continuity management, and crisis/incident management are valued but not essential but the ability and willingness to quickly master new technical and business concepts are necessary. The candidate will be working with an energetic team of highly intellectual and creative developers who work on innovative projects using a variety of different technologies. The candidate will collaborate closely with architects and developers within the squads and across the broader technology division, product managers and users to design, develop, test and deploy new and enhanced capabilities. The candidate will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the application stack. Design, develop, test and deploy scalable full stack applications in a secure, high-performance environment Collaborate with product owners, business analysts and other developers to understand requirements and deliver high quality solutions; write technical user stories which detail how business functionality is to be designed and built Write clean, maintainable code across both front end and backend technologies Integrate applications with APIs, databases and third-party systems Participate in code reviews, sprint planning and other agile ceremonies Ensure adherence to security, compliance and data private requirements specific to the financial industry and Morgan Stanley requirements Contribute to the improvement of development processes, tools and system architectures Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the full technology stack Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of code, configurations and processes What you’ll bring to the role: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field At least 5 years professional experience in full stack software development Strong proficiency in front-end technologies such as CSS, Typescript, JavaScript and frameworks like React (preferred) or Angular Solid experience with back-end technologies such as Java, Node.js or Python and Rest API integration Proficiency in working with relational databases, e.g. Postgres Experience with CI-CD pipelines, Git and DevOps tools Understanding of secure coding practices and experience in regulated environments (financial services is a plus) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically under pressure Effective communication skills with a collaborate and innovative mindset Experience of working with agile methodologies Strong sense of ownership of project and deliverables WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
