We provide over 70 various services such as online shopping mall “Rakuten Ichiba”, online travel service “Rakuten Travel”, online banking service “Rakuten Bank” and others including pro-sports businesses and telecommunication businesses. 　 Department Overview This position is assigned to the accounting team of Finance and Accounting Strategy Department, Rakuten Group, Inc. The Accounting team (in charge of overseas operations) is promoting the establishment of a global financial and accounting operational structure to support rapid business expansion in terms of both operations and governance. As a member of the accounting team, this position will involve not only daily accounting tasks but also participate in various projects, such as planning and establishment of new operations, improvement activities, and co-working with overseas group companies on a wide range of areas. 　 Position: Why We Hire Increase in number due to business expansion 　 Position Details Accounting Operations Responsible for annual, quarterly, and monthly closing of accounts for domestic corporations. - General accounting (journal entry/preparation, receipt and disbursement management, accounts payable and receivable management, etc.), closing operations, preparation of financial statements and consolidation packages, etc. - Fixed asset management (management of system development costs, R&D costs, and software capitalization). - Correspond to statutory audit, J-SOX, internal audit etc. - Preparation of documents related to the Companies Act of Japan. - Subsidiary management (U.S, Europe, Singapore, and India.) *Taxation is supported by shared services from group companies. *This position is also required to participate in the ongoing project to replace ERP accounting system. Project related tasks Participate in various projects as an accounting manager / staff and being responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of accounting operations and profit management functions. - Formulate accounting workflows, policies, and rules among group companies and promote their implementation in cooperation with the staff of each group company. - Strengthen the monitoring function of the group companies and work to enhance the governance of the financial and accounting aspects of the group as a whole. - In charge of designing, implementing, and improving accounting processes and systems, and promoting operational efficiency and governance enhancement. 　 Mandatory Qualifications: Work Experiences - At least 3 to 5 years of accounting experience (8 years and more required for manager). - General knowledge of accounting and taxation (especially knowledge and experience in IFRS and Japanese GAAP). - Basic IT skills in MS Office (Excel, Power point, etc). - Business level English skills (Communicating with overseas team members via videoconference and email). - Native level of Japanese. 　 Desired Qualifications: - Experience in managing overseas subsidiaries, working for a global company, or overseas secondment. - Experience in IT industry (especially system integration business) or telecommunication industry. - Experience in using or implementing accounting systems/ERP systems such as SAP. - Knowledge of accounting standards and taxation in countries such as Japan/Singapore/USA/Germany/India. - Certified Public Accountant (including overseas) or degree in the field of finance and accounting.
