Department Overview At Rakuten, we aim to empower society through unmanned delivery and are seeking new members to lead our robot delivery business. The Robot Delivery Business started in 2018, with a delivery experiment on a university campus in May 2019, followed by Japan's first service for general users from a supermarket to a nearby park in September-October of the same year. In August-September 2020, we expanded our services to a glamping facility, and in April 2021, we extended our services from supermarkets to nearby residential areas. Since May 2022, we have been providing regular services around Tsukuba Station for over a year. We have been providing services in the Harumi area of Chuo Ward, Tokyo, since November 2024, and are continuously working on improving and expanding our services. In this position, you will drive our delivery business forward by managing communications with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. These essential partners include partner merchants, local municipalities in our service areas, commercial facilities, and the developers and management companies of residential properties. Specifically, regarding merchant acquisition, you will be responsible for the entire sales lifecycle—from initial strategy and outreach to negotiating terms, closing contracts, onboarding new partners, and providing ongoing support for existing merchants. Your role will evolve, with tasks assigned to leverage your strengths and support the team's shifting priorities. Position: Position Details - New Partner Acquisition: Identify, negotiate with, and secure agreements with new merchant partners. - Existing Partner Management: Strengthen relationships with existing merchants, resolve issues, and drive their sales growth through comprehensive analysis, strategic proposals, and effective execution. - Alliance Strategy: Develop and execute strategic and tactical alliance plans to expand the business. Work Environment Incubation Business , Unmanned Solution Department , Robot Business Section Mandatory Qualifications: - A passionate and responsible individual dedicated to creating value for customers. - 3+ years of experience in B2B new business development or sales. - Experience selling to enterprise-level clients and working in an industry with intangible products (e.g., software, services, consulting). - Proven experience demonstrating leadership in projects or professional settings. - Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and documentation skills. - A proactive self-starter with the ability to engage team members and drive initiatives forward independently. Desired Qualifications: - Experience in a management or leadership role. - Skills and experience in identifying and analyzing customer challenges and needs. - Experience leading or managing large-scale projects. - Experience in launching new ventures, such as a new business, team, or branch office. - Business-level English proficiency to collaborate effectively with global partners. - A valid driver's license.
