Job Description: Business Overview The Rakuten Group's basic management philosophy is to "empower" people and society through innovation. Rakuten Group offers more than 70 diverse services, including the online shopping mall Rakuten Ichiba, e-commerce services such as the travel booking site Rakuten Travel, financial services such as Rakuten Bank, and professional sports. Department Overview The assignment will be to the Procurement Operations Department , Rakuten Group, Inc. The Procurement Operations Department is responsible for procurement operations across the entire Rakuten Group. Within this department, the Global Sourcing Section serves as the centralized function for company-wide sourcing, collaborating with business divisions to select and negotiate with suppliers. We have set up “Hardware Category Management team” and “Indirect & Service Category Management team” under Global Sourcing Section to promote centralized Service Category Procurement sourcing. Hardware primarily includes, but is not limited to, the following services: 1. Telecommunication equipment (base station, network switch, router, server, test equipment etc.) 2. Maintenance services of telecommunication equipment. Additionally, as the business domain, telecom business such as Rakuten Mobile and Rakuten Symphony are one of key focus areas. 3. Indirect & Service covers general purpose goods and services that support the business operation of Rakuten Group.
