Senior Purchasing Specialist – Projects & Modernization Location: Hyvinkää, Finland Join one of the world’s most innovative companies. KONE Purchasing is a global organization of sourcing and supplier management professionals responsible for direct and indirect materials and services. We are now looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Purchasing Specialist to join our Projects and Modernization Purchasing team within the KONE Europe Supply Line Direct Material organization. About the Role As a Senior Purchasing Specialist for projects, you will work closely with stakeholders from supply chain, engineering, and quality to support dedicated customer projects. Your role is central in helping projects meet their profitability, delivery, and quality targets. You will lead supplier selection, run RFQs, negotiate pricing and delivery terms, and actively identify new saving opportunities. This position requires a curious mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and resilience in a dynamic environment. Your Main Responsibilities Independently manage purchasing activities—including supplier contracts, pricing, RFQs, and negotiations—for selected strategic projects. Manage project‑specific suppliers and coordinate project meetings with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project targets. Identify and drive cost‑saving initiatives supporting overall profitability. Monitor and manage supplier quality and on‑time delivery in collaboration with stakeholders. Support supply and tendering teams with quotations, samples, and material management processes. Report monthly key performance indicators and manage budgets, forecasts, and savings for your projects. What We Expect From You Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, business, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in purchasing. Proven experience in leading supplier negotiations and managing relationships with local, regional, and global partners. Experience in strategic sourcing or project procurement is considered an asset. Understanding of project work fundamentals, Total Cost of Ownership, project timelines, and supply chain management. Ability to read technical drawings. Capability to work independently and effectively in a multinational environment. Flexible mindset with a strong customer focus and willingness to adapt to changes.
