Job Description: Department Overview As Japan’s largest online shopping mall service used by tens of millions of consumers, we continuously strive for improvement through a cycle of hypothesis formulation, verification, analysis, and systemization. During large-scale events such as Rakuten Super Sale, we also optimize our web backend systems by taking into account various system and service characteristics to ensure continuous and stable service under high-load conditions. Position: Why We Hire We are currently seeking Senior Backend Engineers for the Rakuten Ichiba platform. The role involves the design, development, and operation of web system backends, as well as engineering team leadership and project management responsibilities. 　 Position Details - Understand business requirements, and deliver features with high quality and speed - Leading project or leading team as senior engineer from design, develop, test, and operate new user-facing features for large scale e-commerce systems , make technical decision under complex circumstance - System design, implementation, testing and release for various types of development projects - Operations (Inquiry management, investigation and other operational tasks) 　　 Mandatory Qualifications: - 5+ years technical lead experience (High traffic web system architecture design, technical decision making, etc.) - Experience of leading the design of the overall system with scalability and maintainability in mind, and strategically guiding the service’s future direction (user base expansion and integration of new features) - Experience of leading service monitoring and production environment trouble shooting/reporting - 5+ years experiences of Java/Spring Boot Web application development experience - 5+ years experiences of REST API design, development, familiar with JUnit Test and code review - Experience of Relation Database(Oracle or mysql) - Experience of using Tomcat or Weblogic - Experience of Linux, Gradle, Git - Experience of CI/CD with Jenkins or other tools - Experience of container architecture such as Docker, Kubernetes in system development - Communication skill in English 　　 Desired Qualifications: - Experience of performance/stress/load test - Experience of using Redis, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Grafana, Kibana - 3+ years experiences of PHP application development using any framework - Experience building an environment using Kubernetes - Have Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) qualification 　　 Other Information: Additional information on Location Rakuten Crimson House (Head office) Additional information on English Qualification TOEIC Score 800 above or possess equivalent abilities #engineer #applicationsengineer #commerce  #RakutenIchiba  Languages: English (Overall - 3 - Advanced), Japanese (Overall - 3 - Advanced)
