Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Sector team in Maryland. This is a remote position mainly working with suppliers in the Maryland area with up to 75% travel. What You Will Get To Do: Responsible for managing supplier quality risks. Develop and implement systems for evaluating and controlling supplier quality. Ensure supplier processes and products meet contractual, regulatory, and technical requirements. Interfaces directly with supplier personnel to assess quality and manufacturing processes. Conducts product and process verification, monitors supplier quality performance, and leads root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier quality issues. Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and oversees the discrepancy reporting process. Keeps management informed of supplier performance, quality status, and associated risks. Coordinates and oversees the implementation of Supplier Quality plans throughout all program phases. Actively participates in supplier evaluation, qualification, and selection during the Business Acquisition Process and for new procurements on existing programs. Manages the implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval, source selection, supplier classification (Critical, Key, Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and flow-down of supplier quality requirements. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications BS degree in STEM related field with 2+ years of relevant experience; MS Degree 0+ years of relevant experience. Exposure to any of the manufacturing processes such as general mechanical or electronics assembly, machining, forging, heat treating, welding, and brazing. Requires extensive local travel (75–95%), often on short notice. US citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering. Experience working in a highly regulated environment with management systems such as ISO9001/AS9100 or equivalent. Experience with conducting product/ process validation in accordance with AS9102 (First Article Inspection). Experience with Root Cause analysis and problem-solving techniques like FMEA and SIPOC. Experience in leading audits, New Product Introduction (NPI) and Production Readiness Reviews. Ability to effectively lead problem solving activities utilizing tools such as FMEA and SIPOC to evaluate the manufacturing processes. General experience with special processes such as heat treat, brazing, welding, plating, etc. Ability to develop, plan, and implement quality methods and strategies for procured items to assure the design, procurement, acceptance, and use of procured items. Ability to interface effectively with suppliers, customers, work associates/teams, and management. Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Government Security Clearance. Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
