Department Profile The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate, Currency Products, Commodities, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manages risk, trade securities, derivatives, lending and repo products, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. From the largest global institutions to innovative new hedge funds, investors come to Morgan Stanley for sales, trading, and market-making services in almost every type of financial instruments including stocks, bonds, derivatives, foreign exchange, and commodities. Our professionals provide liquidity and content to clients around the world, actively assessing and managing risk, trading securities, and planning and executing transactions in the fast-changing markets. Background on the Team As part of the Fixed Income Division, the Trading Assistant is responsible for working with and supporting the Asia Structured Rates Trading desk in Mumbai. The team covers Asia (Ex-Japan) and Australia markets, supporting Fixed Income and FX derivatives and exotic structures. Primary Responsibilities The role involves working with and supporting the Asia Structured Rates Trading desk in Mumbai. The role suits a self-motivated, highly energetic individual who has a good background in mathematical analysis and strong understanding of the fixed income and exotic markets/products, as well as an understanding of trade execution and trade lifecycle management. Description: · Support the Asia Structured Rates Trading Desk in Mumbai [Asia working hours]. · Perform trade capture & risk reviews including risk moves, lifecycle management, trade amendments. · Provide support to end of day P&L reviews. . Work with the desk to improve trading platform through streamlining processes and automation. · Educational background in mathematics or engineering. · Strong understanding in math/engineering, economics finance · Understanding of Interest rate derivative products and markets (Interest Rates derivatives and exotics, Long-dated FX exotics) · Min of 2 years of relevant work experience in fixed income. · Proficiency in MS Excel · Must be self-motivated, confident and possess good communication skills. · Attention to detail.   Preferred credential · Strong knowledge and expertise in excel, with ability to analyse and automate processes. .
