Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Software Engineer - Application to lead a variety of projects in a new development portfolio. This role can be located in San Diego CA, El Segundo CA or Oklahoma City OK . In this role you will lead the software engineering team with responsibilities that include managing design, architecture, development, and administration of embedded and real time systems. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as with Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, Test Automation, DevSecOps and Systems Test, in an Agile software development environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Leads multi-disciplinary team or software, hardware, and systems engineers, to develop and deliver solutions that meet quality, cost and schedule objectives. Supports Program Management in new business opportunities to include: capture, SOW shaping, technology evaluations, authoring white papers, trade studies, process improvement, and bidding & proposals. Manage the baselining of new software efforts to include labor & non-labor planning & earned value management BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience. Experience leading software teams with at least 10+ software engineers Experience w/ Atlassian Tool Suite; Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Trello, Opsgenie Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current Special Access Program access Java Software Development Functional Management Experience Experience serving as a Control Account Manager (CAM) Current CAM certification Experience serving as a proposal estimator Significant experience writing technical documents Primary Level Salary Range: $144,900.00 - $265,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
