As a Senior Engineer supporting Optical fiber manufacturing and processes within Research & Development , you will be trusted to work on the Research & Development of products that help revolutionize the eye care industry, advance optimal patient outcomes, and help people see brilliantly. In this role, a typical day will include: Supporting the installation and commissioning of advanced optical fiber production facility. Partnering with contractors and vendors to support the customization and procurement of equipment. Contributing to the development and implementation of next‑generation optical fiber technologies and production processes. Recommending and applying effective engineering solutions independently, ensuring efficiency and innovation in operations. WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs) The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English 2 Years of Relevant Experience Demonstrated proficiency in fiber optic technologies, including fabrication methods and precision termination techniques. Practical experience with chemical processes and laboratory operations. Preferred: Working knowledge of CAD software for design and engineering applications.
