Job Description:     The Category Management function oversees the HPC & AI product portfolio, including accelerated computing platforms, across the full lifecycle—covering offering, positioning, and pricing. It supports direct and indirect sales teams with product guidance to enable timely, effective deal execution for standardized opportunities. The Category Manager plans business objectives for the assigned portfolio and adjusts product decisions to achieve them, acting as a lead expert in competitive knowledge across configuration, pricing, workload positioning, and customer requirements. The role partners with sales to accelerate deals through clear configuration and pricing direction and works with Marketing to define demand generation and differentiation priorities. This is a sales-compensated role with overlay quota responsibility. Applies advanced knowledge in HPC, AI infrastructure, and accelerated systems to solve complex business issues as a recognized subject matter expert. Contributes to new ideas and methods, focusing on improving deal efficiency, configuration standardization, and pricing consistency. Handles complex problems requiring evaluation of multiple factors such as performance, cost, supply constraints, and competitive dynamics. Provides expertise to cross-functional teams and supports broader HPC & AI go-to-market initiatives. Represents the organization in AI and HPC discussions with customers and partners, guiding solution scoping and commercial alignment. Exercises independent judgment to achieve objectives and may mentor junior employees. Responsibilities: • Deep understanding of the HPC & AI product portfolio, business management challenges, and sales strategies. • Actively contributes to the definition and execution of the HPC & AI category business plan. • Establishes relationships and represents the category team with sales forces and partners at a senior level. • Product line and overlay quota responsibility for a significant share of the HPC & AI portfolio or a defined customer segment. • Provides hands-on support to sales on configuration, pricing guidance, and approval alignment, particularly for standardized and repeatable deal patterns. • Functional responsibility in one or more areas such as pricing guidance, configuration strategy, product positioning, or sales enablement. • May lead a subset of the category team or act as a functional Champion for specific focus areas. • May lead engagement with external technology partners or ecosystem vendors relevant to AI and HPC solutions. Education and Experience Required: University or Bachelors degree in Information Technology, or Business Administration, or Marketing or related field. Advanced degree or MBA preferred. Typically 8-12 years of professional experience with a combination of Marketing, Sales, Business Planning experienced preferred. Consumer and/or Commercial Partner management expertise. End User Acct management as an alternative. Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of the IT industry, with familiarity in HPC, AI infrastructure, or data center systems. Business planning skills, multidimensional. Financial planning and modelling skills, comfortable to manage high complexity business planning and reporting. Strong communication skills at senior management internally and externally. Knowledge of promotional marketing processes and practices. Negotiation skills and ability to frame the product value proposition to customers/partners. Leadership skills and cross functional expertise (sales, supply chain, marketing.)
