It also wants to use technology to help its businesses grow. 　 Department Overview The EC Business Data Analytics & Platform Section is part of the Business Support Development Department (BSD) within the Commerce & Marketing Company. It develops and operates a data platform that uses the large amount of data from Rakuten Ichiba, which is a main business of Rakuten Group, Inc. This section provides the following main services and functions to speed up Rakuten Ichiba's business growth using data and AI. Data Platform (DWH) Development and Operation It designs, builds, and operates a data warehouse (DWH) that brings together and stores many kinds of Rakuten Ichiba data. This provides a strong and scalable data base. Data Pipeline Development and Operation It develops and operates data pipelines for real-time and batch processing. This makes data collection, processing, and connection automatic, providing a steady data supply. Data Solutions (Data Processing, BI) It develops data analysis, visualization, and reporting functions. This helps business intelligence (BI) and provides solutions that support fast and accurate decisions based on data. AI Solution Development and Operation It uses machine learning and AI technology to develop and operate new AI solutions. These include predictive analysis, automation, customer behavior analysis, and AI agents, which create new business value.   Position: Why We Hire We are looking for Data Scientists to make our data analysis and AI solution development stronger. For this job, we are looking for people who can solve business problems using machine learning, generative AI, and advanced analysis methods. You will work on fraud detection (fraudulent payment detection). 　 Position Details You will handle all data science tasks that use Rakuten Ichiba's large amount of data to make business grow faster. Specifically, you will help develop and use new AI solutions through the following tasks: Finding business problems and planning data strategies - You will work with product managers and other business departments to find business problems that data science can solve by asking questions - You will define the data needed to solve problems and plan and carry out efficient and effective data collection strategies Advanced data analysis and AI solution development - You will use advanced methods like statistics, machine learning, and generative AI on the collected data to find deep insights - You will design and test experimental plans for AI solutions that use machine learning models and generative AI to solve business problems - You will continuously fine-tune models to make the developed solutions more accurate and better Sharing results and checking effects - You will make reports of experiment results and analysis results that are clear and easy to understand visually - You will give insightful presentations based on data to stakeholders to help them make decisions - You will continuously check the effects of released solutions and suggest improvements based on objective measurements 　 Mandatory Qualifications: - Over 3 years of experience in data analysis and machine learning modeling - Strong knowledge of machine learning (including deep learning) and generative AI - Advanced analysis methods for finding and solving business problems - Evaluating and tuning machine learning models and generative AI models - Python programming experience (with main data science libraries) - Experience with SQL - Knowledge of statistics - Communication skills - Presentation skills (explaining complex analysis ideas clearly) - Business level or higher Japanese and English 　 Desired Qualifications: - Experience developing AI for fraud detection (fraudulent payment detection) - Experience in consulting - Experience developing and operating data science services - Experience in the e-commerce industry - Knowledge of causal inference - Experience developing machine learning platforms - Experience using BI tools like Tableau 　 Other Information: Additional information on Location Rakuten Crimson House (Head office) Additional information on English Qualification TOEIC Score 800 above or possess equivalent abilities #engineer #datascientist #commerce #RakutenIchiba Languages: English (Overall - 3 - Advanced), Japanese (Overall - 4 - Fluent)
