Job Description: Business Overview The Technology Management Division (TMD) provides Corporate IT, and Cyber Security & Privacy Governance to Rakuten Group companies and essential business management for technology organizations, thereby enabling innovation and strengthening the technology foundation. Within TMD, the Technology Management Services Supervisory Department (TMSSD) plays a vital role in CIO Governance, IT financial management, IT procurement, Quality Management System (QMS), technology-related public relations, and human resources strategy. By promoting efficiency, quality, risk management, and organizational strength, we ensure that Tech Divisions remain agile and at the forefront of technological advancement. Department Overview The Cyber Security Defense Department (CSDD) is responsible for safeguarding all Rakuten companies and users from cyber threats, ensuring the security and integrity of Rakuten Group's global internet services. We oversee all aspects of both Secure Development and Security Operations for services developed within the group, with dedicated security teams and operation centers strategically located in key regions worldwide. Position Details The Cybersecurity Consultant will play a critical role in supporting the Rakuten Group's cybersecurity oversight function. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, strong communication skills, and fluency in both Japanese and English. The consultant will work closely with various Rakuten companies to understand their cybersecurity concerns, assess their cybersecurity posture, identify areas for improvement, and provide guidance on implementing best practices and adhering to industry and group-wide security standard. This role reports to the Cybersecurity team in Rakuten businesses and Cyber Security Defense Department (CSDD). Responsibilities: - Consulting and Guidance: Provide expert consulting and guidance to Rakuten companies on a wide range of cybersecurity topics, including: Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL), Security Monitoring and Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, Cloud Security, Data Protection and Privacy, Risk Management, Compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) - Cybersecurity Assessments: Conduct comprehensive cybersecurity assessments of Rakuten companies, evaluating their security controls, policies, and procedures against industry best practices and Rakuten Group standards. - Gap Analysis and Remediation Planning: Identify gaps in cybersecurity posture and develop actionable remediation plans to address those gaps. - Standards Development Support: Assist the CSDD's Strategy & Governance in developing and maintaining group-wide cybersecurity standards and regulations. - Audit Support: Support the CSDD in conducting audits of Rakuten companies to verify their compliance with security standards. - Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver cybersecurity training and awareness programs to employees of Rakuten companies. - Project Management: Manage cybersecurity projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. - Communication and Reporting: Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations on cybersecurity assessments, remediation plans, and project status. - Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within Rakuten companies. - Stay Current: Stay up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies. Mandatory Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. - Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity consulting or a related role. - High fluency in Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking). - Experience working with large, complex organizations. - Strong technical skills in a variety of cybersecurity domains (e.g., application security, network security, cloud security, incident response). - Excellent understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001). - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.　 Desired Qualifications: - Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity consulting. - Experience in a consulting firm is highly desirable. - Experience with international organizations. - Project Management certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2). - Experience with specific security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability scanners, cloud security platforms). - CISSP, CISM, CISA, OSCP, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
