Job Description: Business Overview Rakuten Wallet, Inc. is a crypto asset (virtual currency) exchange company of Rakuten Group, and started providing crypto asset spot trading service in August 2019, and in December of the same year, started a service that allows you to exchange crypto assets from "Rakuten Points". In March 2020, we started a margin trading service. You can also invest by exchanging "Rakuten points" accumulated using Rakuten services for crypto assets. It is a popular service because even people who are reluctant to invest in cash can easily start trading crypto assets. Furthermore, you can easily charge the electronic money "Rakuten Cash" with the crypto assets (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash) of physical transactions operated by "Rakuten Wallet" and "Rakuten Pay (app payment)" in the city. And "Rakuten Point Card" member stores can now be used. Department Overview The Systems Department operates on two main pillars: 'planning, development, and implementation of new services' and 'operation and maintenance of existing services.' Our responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including the launch of new in-house services, ensuring their stable operation after implementation, and daily improvement activities from a customer perspective. We play a crucial role in driving our business forward by collaborating with other departments within the company. Position: Why We Hire The system department is the department related to the system that is the basis of our business. We are planning to increase the number of employees to strengthen the system for further business expansion. Our industry is incredibly dynamic, and collaboration within the Rakuten Group is expanding daily. This brings a constant influx of exciting projects. We are eager to welcome new members who can support our business and help us accelerate the delivery of diverse services to our users. Position Details You will be responsible for a series of tasks from requirement definition, design, construction and operation of the cloud infrastructure used by Rakuten Wallet services. Depending on the business situation and your skills and experience, you will be responsible for multiple projects, while also being involved in organizational and process improvement activities. While adhering to the high security requirements and regulations unique to the FinTech industry, you will collaborate with infrastructure leads to design and build the optimal infrastructure environment with a high degree of freedom and discretion. Project Examples - For newly launched in-house projects, you will be responsible for the design, construction, and operation of the infrastructure. - For small-scale cases handled by a few virtual machines (VMs) to medium-scale projects, you will build the infrastructure using Azure or AWS. - Regarding our existing main service environment, due to its legacy nature and aging infrastructure, the challenges for the next fiscal year will be replacement with a new environment and cost reduction. Work Environment It consists of 5 employees of our company and 10 outsourcing members. In order to carry out the system department mission, we are collaborating with domestic and overseas vendors (about 100 people). All members of the system department have experience in system planning, development, operation, and maintenance.
