We are now looking for a Summer Trainee, Electronics to work with Control System and Devices Tribes team in studying and evaluating sensor technologies to be used in Elevator systems. You will be part of Electronics team in Hyvinkää, Finland. Depending on the phase of the work, it is possible also work part of the time remotely. We are looking for Bachelor’s or Masters’ student with electrical / electronics studies to work max. for 4 months during May-September 2026, based on availability and preference. Based on knowledge, skills and interests, it is also possible to make thesis for KONE. Tasks during the traineeship will include exploring sensor technologies both theoretically and practically. Based on the problem statements, you will be working on experimenting with various sensor technologies and building proof of concepts to evaluate future productization possibilities of the technology. As a summer trainee you will be working together as part of a pair with a fellow summer trainee along with industry experts and get the opportunity to influence the future technologies used in elevators. Any experience with hobby projects involving the use of sensors is a plus. In order to be successful in this role, you preferably have: Bachelor’s or Master’s student, area: Electronics, Sensors, Electrical Good collaboration and communication skills, also in English Interest for electronics (e.g. hobby of electronics, embedded programming, experience with Arduino or Raspberry Pi) Experience for basic laboratory tools (like oscilloscope) Hands-on experience in soldering, building prototypes, circuit simulation Fault finding / problem solving skills Teamwork skills and ability to learn Skills in reading literature and exploring technologies Basic programming skills  We offer: You will be working with highly dynamic teams significantly investing time and effort on how we develop our products and services and solutions.
