Summary Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases. Obtains materials using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels (i.e., Just in Time purchases, use of EOQ - Economic Order Quantities). Resolves discrepancies. Creates and maintains bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprisewide systems. Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized. Develops specifications for new contract orders. Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards. Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. Evaluates vendor reliability and develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive. Job Description Required Skills and Knowledge Familiar with ERP/MRP and production or service environment. Other Desired Skills and Knowledge Working understanding of contractual terms and conditions, purchasing law, and supply chain concepts. Ability to read and understand financial statements. Required Certifications and Training CPM or APICS certification or equivalent a plus. Experience Level with Business Tools Proficient in utilizing business tools such as:  E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired. Education and Experience Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of related experience Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation. Light work that will occasionally require employee to lift/move up to 20lbs. and occasionally lift more than 20 lbs. to greater than 40 lbs. Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies occasionally. Reaching above and below the shoulder occasionally. Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools occasionally. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities.
