Service Helper Mueller Water Products is the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries and has an immediate opening for a Service Helper in our Chattanooga, TN facility. Come be a part of something that sustains and enriches the lives of every human being. As a Service Helper, you will... Primary Responsibilities: · Maintain a clean and organized work environment by regularly sweeping, disposing of scrap materials, and clearing walkways and workstations of debris · Ensure that machines are properly cleaned and maintained · Assist in moving and staging raw materials, parts, and tools within the machine shop to support production workflows · Deliver and retrieve materials and components from storage areas or other departments · Help maintain tools and equipment by ensuring they are properly stored, cleaned, and ready for use · Provide general support to operators by assisting with setup, part loading/unloading, and other tasks as needed · Ensure that operators have easy access to materials, tools, and equipment to prevent delays in production · Follow machine shop safety policies and adhere to lockout/tagout procedures · Report any hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors or team leads · Operate forklift as necessary · Work safely in the manufacturing production environment · Follow detailed verbal/written assembly instructions, processes, and procedures · Properly fill out basic forms, reports, and label products correctly that pertain to job duties · Communicate and work effectively with others · Provide hands-on and verbal job function training to coworkers as needed · Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to the Production Supervisor or member of management · Record daily all work performed and correct distribution of work time · Use software systems as needed to complete job duties · Contribute to culture of high-quality products · Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions · Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor per CBA and company policies · The Supervisor will instruct each employee in the responsibilities as listed in the procedures · The Supervisor will inform each employee where to access the procedure manual Job Expectations: · Ability to work with your hands · Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) · Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds, and up to 50 pounds · Ability to work in extreme temperatures (hot/cold) · Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach at arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouch · Ability to use power tools, air tools, and other vibratory tools · Ability to work around hot heavy machinery · Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time · Ability to move materials with a powered vehicle (forklift) · Repetitive standing, bending, turning, and twisting for extended periods of time · Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision · Must be able to pass a basic aptitude test, physical, with drug/alcohol test and background screen · Candidates must be available to work all shifts including possible mandatory overtime on weekends · Previous experience in a foundry setting Required and/or Recommended Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): · Hard Hat · Safety Glasses · Hearing Protection · Face Mask · Protective Clothing · Steel Toe/Met Guard Shoes Required Education/Experience: · Must have high school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience Work is scheduled in 8 to 10 hour shifts on Monday through Friday with the possibility of mandatory overtime throughout the week and on the weekend. Overtime is paid based on the current and applicable collective bargaining agreement. The facility does have multiple shifts, employees MUST be flexible and may be required to change shifts.
