Reporting directly to the Plant Engineer, as an Industrial Electromechanic you will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks, specifically proactive tasks, necessary to provide high quality, efficient, timely shipment of Sonoco products.  Safety, quality, productivity, and strong work ethic are important to the Sonoco culture.  What you’ll be doing: Adheres strictly to safety protocols, leading by example and mitigating risks. Executes preventive and predictive maintenance tasks accurately and promptly. Proficiently troubleshoots electrical issues, in addition to basic mechanical problems. Collaborates effectively with operations to address equipment anomalies. Engages in proactive maintenance initiatives like FMEA and RCCA. Utilizes internal CMMS to keep detailed records of work for future reference and analysis. Upholds stringent housekeeping standards in work areas. Demonstrates proficiency in precision welding, shop tools operation, and mechanical repairs. Proficient in electrical systems, including wiring, motor controls (VFDs & Servos), and PLC ladder logic (Allen Bradley & Siemens). Proficient in designing and troubleshooting complex electrical circuits as well as safety circuits Expertise in running conduits and wiring, emphasizing precision and compliance with electrical codes and standards. Installing and maintaining auxiliary equipment as required by production.   Maintaining and repairing utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer.   Assisting/training other maintenance personnel with repairs, PM’s, and rebuilds.   Collaborating closely with other departments and teams for proactive problem resolutions.   Must be able to pass Category 2 electrical safe work practices standards and utilize safe work practices and PPE. Manage small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment.   Performing all duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies.   We’d love to hear from you if: You have experience in an industrial environment or military experience. Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment. Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial and motor controls preferred. Experience in design, repair, and analysis of electrical systems. Must have exposure to electrical engineering design principles and methodologies. Comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending and twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs.  Working independently and managing multiple tasks in an off-shift position with rotating shifts that will require overtime including weekends.
