Scope: This role contributes to the end-to-end architecture, governance, and technical health of our Atlassian Cloud ecosystem, supporting reliability, scalability, and secure platform operations across Jira, Confluence, and Jira Align. You will actively participate in platform evolution through integrations, automation, and solution design that enable enterprise agile delivery, portfolio planning, and effective cross-functional collaboration. You will be involved in defining standards, optimizing usage, supporting license/app management, and strengthening team enablement through best practices, documentation, and analytics-driven insights. Our current technical environment: Core Atlassian Cloud Tools: Jira Cloud Software, Confluence, Jira Align, Jira Focus, Jira Talent. Marketplace Apps: Rich Filters, ScriptRunner, BigPicture, Advanced Roadmaps, Tempo, Insight. Integration Tools: REST APIs, Webhooks, Azure AD, Okta, GitHub, Azure DevOps. Monitoring & Reporting: Splunk, Grafana, Power BI. Automation: Automation for Jira, Groovy scripting. What you’ll do: Platform Architecture & Governance Define governance standards for Atlassian tools (permissions, security, compliance). Establish naming conventions, workflow standards, and guardrails to prevent technical debt. Application Support & Optimization Provide L2/L3 support for Jira Cloud Software, Confluence, Jira Align, Jira Focus, and Jira Talent. Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity; implement scaling strategies. Manage upgrades, patches, and release governance for stability and compliance. App Installation & Management Install, configure, and maintain Atlassian Marketplace apps and plugins (e.g., ScriptRunner, BigPicture). Evaluate and approve new apps based on security, compliance, and business need. Manage app lifecycle, including updates, compatibility checks, and vendor coordination.   Subscription & License Management Oversee license allocation and optimization for Jira Cloud, Confluence, and associated apps. Track subscription renewals, cost optimization, and compliance with vendor agreements. Implement usage analytics to ensure efficient license utilization and forecast future needs. Integration & Automation Lead integrations with SSO/MFA, Azure AD, HR systems, and DevOps tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps). Design and implement workflow automation using Automation for Jira, ScriptRunner, REST APIs. Enable data synchronization between Jira Align and portfolio-level planning tools. Reporting & Analytics Build advanced dashboards and reports for leadership visibility into delivery metrics. Implement KPIs and performance monitoring for platform adoption and business impact. Security, Compliance & Audit Collaborate with Security and Audit teams to ensure SOX, GDPR, HIPAA compliance. Maintain audit logs and evidence for governance and regulatory readiness. Disaster Recovery & Monitoring Define and maintain DR plans for Atlassian tools, test failover procedures. Set up monitoring dashboards and alerts for uptime, latency, and error rates. User Enablement & Evangelism Drive training programs, documentation, and adoption campaigns for Atlassian best practices. Create self-service portals for common requests (project creation, permissions). What we are looking for: 8–12 years of experience with Atlassian tools, with at least 3+ years in a lead or architect role. Strong expertise in Jira Cloud Software, Confluence Cloud, and Jira Align Cloud, including enterprise-scale implementations. Hands-on proficiency in workflow design, automation (Automation for Jira), scripting (Groovy, ScriptRunner). Deep understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and portfolio-level planning. Proven experience in SSO/MFA integrations, user provisioning, and access governance. Strong background in performance tuning, release governance, and automation-first delivery. Preferred / Nice-to-Have: Certifications: Atlassian Certified Expert, Jira cloud Administration, Jira Align Practitioner. Experience with Jira Focus and Jira Talent for advanced workforce planning. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and integration with GitHub. Track record of delivering measurable business outcomes (improved throughput, cost optimization, adoption metrics). Must have a proven record of meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality. Strong communication skills are essential, both written and oral, targeted at a wide variety of internal and external audiences. Must have good idea about customer deployment scenarios and experience in dealing with peer teams outside engineering.
